The legal tampering period is open!
With the world shutting down due to the Coronavirus outbreak, most of the major sports leagues are shut down. Yet, the NFL has decided to proceed with business and chose not to delay the start of free agency. It is good news for teams and sports fans who will get to meet new players to their organizations this week and beyond.
This article will play host to the latest rumors and signings for the Bears.
As the Bears signed Ha-Ha Clinton Dix to just a one-year deal last offseason, a hole has emerged next to Eddie Jackson on the Bears defense. Joseph, 26, has spent his entire career in Oakland. His best season came in 2015, appearing in 15 games posting 79 total tackles and one interception.
The Bears tight end situation last season was pitiful. It hurt their offense and a major need heading into the offseason. Trey Burton will be back and he is productive when healthy, but the Bears need a plan given his lack of availability. With Austin Hooper now on his way to Cleveland, other options include Erik Ebron and one player that could be of interest is David Njoku via trade as it is rumored the Browns are shopping him.
This is the biggest Bears news of the day. Bridgewater is one of the top QB names on the market this offseason and with Mitch Trubisky’s poor play last season, the Bears have to address the position. This would be a huge deal for the Bears.
Life moves pretty fast…
Matt Nagy and new QB coach John DeFillipo are very familiar with Nick Foles so that is a positive if the Super Bowl winner would wind up in Chicago. Bridgewater continues to be connected to the Bears but now it is fading. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also in on Bridgewater and surprisingly making a run for Tom Brady. Overall, the Bears are involved in the QB market but it remains unclear who they will eventually land.
