Remember the guy that threw a touchdown pass to Nick Foles in the Super Bowl? The Bears got him.
Former Eagles tight end Trey Burton is expected to sign with the Bears once the new league year begins, as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Burton, 26, has the versatility to line up in multiple spots and be effective. His athleticism pops out on the tape and will be a big target for Mitchell Trubisky.
Ryan Pace knows he has to surround Trubisky with weapons. And with the abundance of cap space, he is not messing around.
For the Bears, it’s just the beginning. Robinson and Burton are the start of what will be a very productive free agency period for the Bears. There is still a major need at outside linebacker and cornerback. Kyle Fuller has expressed his interest in staying with the Bears and Pace has to lock him up. The Bears placed the transitional tag on Fuller last week.
