The Chicago Blackhawks will get a chance to avenge their heartbreaking 4-3 loss in OT last Saturday, as they host the Calgary Flames tonight at the United Center. The Flames, themselves only a point shy of a slot in the playoffs, are two points ahead of Chicago in the wildcard race.
Along with the Flames, the Hawks are playing division rivals the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild this week. As it stands, the Hawks are five points out of the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference, currently held by the Wild. A win over these three teams will gain Chicago some serious ground in the standings.
Jeff Glass will be starting on net tonight. Glass, who started in Calgary last Saturday, saved 34 out of the 38 shots he faced at the Saddledome. Brandon Saad, who has had trouble getting in the scoresheet, finds himself on the fourth line for the second game in a row. Connor Murphy, who had played 17 minutes last Saturday, seems to be headed for yet another healthy scratch. Michal Kempny will draw into his place.
