Rumors are circulating around the league that Bulls PG Rajon Rondo will try to return at some point in this first round series against the Celtics.
While it seemed he was for sure done after the injury to his hand was reported before game 3, it is not clear if he is done or not. ESPN ‘s Nick Friedell reported that Rondo has been taking some shots and says he’s “feeling better.” He also talked about Hoiberg saying he has not shut the door to him playing at least game 6.
Shams Charania, NBA reported for the vertical.com, said that according to some sources he is trying to get into game 5 and that the final decision is TBD. So more and more talk about him playing is buzzing.
The Chicago Bulls offense has not been nearly the same with Rondo being out of the lineup. Fred Hoiberg has resorted to Isiah Canaan to start game 5 after poor performances from Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams not just in game 4 but the entire series.
Nothing official yet, but there may be a possibility that Rondo tries to play.
