The Chicago Bulls take in the Brooklyn Nets at 4p.m. Saturday afternoon and the NBA has announced a scenario in which they can clinch the playoffs.
The NBA PR announced early Saturday morning that the Bulls can clinch a playoff spot with a win, a Heat loss and a Bucks win. The Heat take on the Wizards tonight in Washington and the Bucks travel to take on the 76ers.
The Nets are the worst team in the NBA. The Bulls, who play them twice in their last three games, should have no problem taking care of business. But after a poor showing versus the Knicks and a sloppy game vs. the 76ers recently, it’s not a lock for a Bulls win.
Rajon Rondo (right wrist) is “most likely out” Saturday vs. Nets. Dwyane Wade, who has been recovering from a elbow fracture, is questionable. When talking to reporters yesterday, Wade is ready to get back on the court. “I’m ready to go back out there and try to play.” When asked about his expected playing time, Wade said, “between 15 and 20 minutes.” Wade also took time to talk about Jimmy Butler, who has been phenomenal while Wade is out. Wade used the term “top-five basketball” and “this is the best stretch of his young career.”
With Rondo out, Jerian Grant is expected to start. Grant, who has gone from starting to DNP-CD’s multiple times this season, put together a solid performance Thursday. Grant had 15 points to go along with 5 assists.
